The inaugural exhibition at OCAT Shanghai’s new location on Qufu Lu sees renowned Gansu-born installation artist Zhang Ding. Taking the idea of high-speed travel, and more specifically driving, as the starting point, Zhang seeks to tease out ideas of accelerating capitalism, tech advancements and the incredible, but insidious, route that humankind has stumbled upon over the past few centuries.

Opening on Sunday, September 15, this photographic exhibition brings the award-winning work of Martin Schoeler to Shanghai. Known for his hyper-detailed close-ups of famous and influential figures, Schoeler's work presents the question of honest and genuine self-portraits in this age of beautifying filters and snapchat dysmorphia. Sure, Bob Dylan is a Nobel Prize winning writer, poet and lyricist, but his lesser known creative endeavors include painting with oil, acrylic and watercolor, and even include ironwork sculpture. Modern Art Museum, god bless their souls, have collected more than 250 of Dylan’s works spanning over 40 years to Shanghai this weekend. Dylan’s early ink experiments will show alongside works from Mondo Scripto sketches. Enjoy this fascinating insight into the creative polymath's works until January.

Until Jan 5, RMB100. Modern Art Museum Shanghai. Tickets
